Bass and Redfish Slam 7-25-09 Joining me today was Travis Simoneaux and family for a great day fishing. Every stop produced a few reds and bass as we fished our way back to the launch. Mananged to put together a nice mess of fish before calling it quits du to the heat. Sure was a treat today with all the bass mixed in. Family Fun 7-24-09 The wife and I decided to take our daughter on her first fishing trip. Our plan was to get our limit of reds QUICK! And get her back to the camp for some cool AC. Dularge Trout Bite 7-23-09 Helped out Capt. Bill Lake today with his group from Texas. Got a late start this morning du to the rain. After the rain quit we were on our way. Made several stops before finding a steady bite. Once we found them, we were able to put 40 nice trout on ice before the bite stopped. Made a couple more stops picking up a few more fish before calling it quits, as the sky started to get dark, again. Great time spent with great company today. Good Luck Fishin'. Capt. Sad Day Fishing 7-19-09 Day two with Randy, Kevin and Blake Benoit and Andre Lancon was all about the trout. what we thought was gonna be a good day turned into a sad day. Made several stops today to find strong winds, rough seas, and muddy water with only a hand full of fish. So we decided to call it quits and head in. The fish just wouldn't turn on! Redfish Party 7-18-09 Decided to book a trip on my Birthday today. Kinda thinking I should have taken that day off, but boy I'm sure glad I didn't as Randy, Kevin and Blake Benoit and Andre Lancon joined me for one SLAMIN" REDFISH PARTY! Wet Day Fishing 7-17-09 Steve Hopkins, his son Matthew and nephew Nick Anselmo joined me today in search for the unpredictable Trout! Our first stop produced non stop thunderstorms and a hand full of fish. After killing most of the day hunkered down in the boat, we decided to head north where we were greated with a couple hours of sunshine. Smoking Hot Trout Action 7-10-09 Joining me today from Baton Rouge were Mike Fuller, Steve Tiek, and Troy Bergeron. One stop is all it took as we found the trout stacked up chasing shrimp. The action was fast and furious as we had fish coming in the boat from every direction, reaching our 100 fish by 9:00 AM!! Bayou Black Bassin' 7-9-09 Made a late afternoon Bass Trip with good friend Gavin Maxwell. After launching the boat and looking at the water, we decided to drop the trolling motor and get right to work. With less than an hour we managed 12 bass and 2 stripers. Not bad for never having to leave the launch. All fish caught on green cajun spinners. Flounder and Redfish Action 7-8-09 Called up good friend Brandon Luke from Houma to see if he wanted to go hit the honey hole today. Once we arrived we were greeted with strong winds and muddy water, but with the right bait and presentation we managed to boat 10 reds and 4 nice flounder in less than 45 minutes. Decided to fish around a few other spots and play catch and release with 25 more reds. All fish caught on Tsunami swim baits with a medium retrieve. Strong winds do not seem to be a factor right now as the reds and flounder seem to be tearing up our baits. What a peacefull day on the water being the only boat around. Monday Redfish ERUPTION 7-6-09 The 4th and final day with my Kentucky Group produced once again. Non-stop action from every direction, delivered another limit. It did not take long with multiple double hook ups!! One time we had 5 fish on at one time!! Today was by far the best day so far with a variety of fish for them to take home. Friday Morning Redfish Smack Down 7-3-09 Joining me this morning was John Oneal and Steve Griffin from Baton Rouge. We started our morning searching for trout but had a tough time because of the tide movement. Thursday Red Fish Slam with Ascension Outdoors Joining me today was Lyle Johnson and his son Wesley with Ascension Outdoors. Got a call from Lyle wondering if we could do a show on some Redfish caught on top water plugs. So we agreed that today would be the day and BoYeeee was IT! It was AWESOME!! Reds blowin' up on the baits. All fish caught in less than 2 hours, all on top water baits. After reaching our limit, it was catch and release using many diffrent baits like gold spoon, tsunami swim baits, and baby -1 crank baits. What a great day with great company. Great Redfish Action 6-27-09 Day 2 with Chris King, Chris Jacobs and Tim Brown from Alabama was all about Redfish. One stop is all it took catching over 20 reds with only 10 making the size limit. All fish were caught on gold spoons in about 2 1/2 to 3 feet of water. Sure was nice taking a break from the trout to go caught some reds. Big thanks to Capt. Bill Lake for setting all this up. Smoking Hot Trout and Red Bite 6-28-09 Joining me today was Gavin Maxwell and Chris Bergeron with Mike Evan's Crane Service. Our goal today was to catch a limit of trout and then try for a limit of reds. First stop was a slow bite producing 43 quality fish before the bite stopped. Our second stop was slow also, but nice quality fish. Once number 75 hit the ice, we were off to look for the reds. One stop is all we needed. Catching 8 reds only boating 6. Decided to call it quits at 1:00 pm as it was getting REALLY hot. All trout caught on Berkley Gulp shrimp and reds caught on gold spoons. Great day with great company. Good Luck Fishin'. Father's Day Fishing 6-21-09 Decided to make a run to the camp this afternoon to spend some time with family in from Texas. Hung out for a while and decided to go fishing! Took Aunt Connie Broome, Uncle Mark Broome, Kelly Campbell and Trey Campbell. It didn't take long to load up and we were on our way. One stop is all it took to put 55 trout on ice before going look for Reds. Once we arrived to the spot, it didn't take long to catch 15 Reds and make it back to the camp, pack up and back to the launch before dark. Fishing with me today was Sal Vazquez, Eric Amy, Aaron Bergeron and Phil Bacilla from Opelousas. Today was just what we were looking for calm seas and clean water. But for some reason the fish just would not cooperate. Good Thing we brought some LIVE BAIT as 3/4th of our fish were caught on LIVE BAIT and better quality fish also. With a great crew we managed to put 50 fish on ice before calling it quits. Thanks again guys for a great day on the water and Thanks to Capt. Bill Lake for booking the trip. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Charlie Henry from Baton Rouge, Jim Coiner from Nashville, TN, and Pat Barker from Panama City, FL. No fast action today as the yellow mouths were scattered catching a few fish at each stop. But with a great crew and some hard work we mangaged to put 92 fish on ice. Helped out Capt. Bill Lake today with Doug Henneman, his wife Dianne and their son Dillon from New Iberia. Our mission was to catch a four person limit of trout. The Hennemans have never put together a full limit. Today was their lucky day as we worked over the birds using Tandem Rig Bayou Chubs. Good Day Trout Fishing 6-11-09Joining me today was Brian spear and his Dad, Louie Spear and his good friend Clarence Lucas. These guys came down from Alabama to get in on some Dularge trout action!
